Frequently asked questions

What are Córdoba’s local holidays?

The municipality of Córdoba has two local holidays a year: 8 September, the Virgen de la Fuensanta, the city’s patron saint, and 24 October, Saint Raphael, Córdoba’s guardian. When one falls on a Sunday, the City Council moves it to the next day: in 2027, Saint Raphael is on Monday 25 October.

Are the holidays the same across Andalusia?

National and Andalusian ones (such as 28 February, Andalusia Day), yes. Local holidays change from one municipality to another: ask Cordoba.chat about yours.

Where does the calendar come from?

From the BOE resolution with the year’s public holidays, the Junta de Andalucía decree (BOJA) with the region’s and the Córdoba City Council plenary agreement with the local ones.

What is a “puente”?

A working day between a public holiday and the weekend. The card counts the long weekends you get without taking any days off and the bridge days you get by taking one.
